Tub Replacement and Other Odds and Ends
Comprehensive home improvement project spanning refrigerator repair (ice maker issue), shed door lock removal, fish fryer valve repair, basement door weatherization with threshold replacement, master bath showerhead swap and silicone re-seal, second-floor bathroom floor tile demo/replacement (45 sq ft mosaic on mortar), full tub replacement (60"×30" whirlpool, customer-provided) with plumbing rough-in relocation, tile surround work, and two window blinds installation (master bedroom and kids bedroom). Assumptions: • Refrigerator repair assumes parts already identified; no diagnosis call needed. • Basement door: 32"×80" wooden slab; assumes standard wood frame installation with new metal threshold with rubber bump (same type as existing). • Master bath shower: 4'×2.5' silicone removal and reapplication; assumes single showerhead swap on existing arm, no valve work. • Second-floor bathroom floor: 45 sq ft of 2'×1' light standard tile replacement on mosaic tile/mortar substrate; assumes subfloor is sound with no structural damage. • Bathroom tile surround: assumes 3 rows above tub removed/replaced plus 1 row and nosing on tub side; customer reusing shower caddy, new soap dish. • Plumbing rough-in: assumes relocation of supply lines and drain for new tub position within bathroom. • Tile finishes: light tan or white grout color; assumes grout sealer applied after installation. • Flooring grout: ~35 LF perimeter; light tan color assumed to match 2'×1' tile aesthetic. • Debris haul and cleanup included for bathroom demo. • Two blinds: one master bedroom window, one kids bedroom window; assumes standard single-hung or double-hung window size (no large sliding or specialty windows inferred). • Shed lock removal assumes angle grinder use by customer; no structural repair needed. • Fish fryer valve repair assumes customer performing with lubricating oil; no parts replacement anticipated. Scope: • appliances: Refrigerator ice maker repair; parts identified by customer; service call to diagnose and replace defective component(s) causing ice crush and dispense failure. • carpentry: Basement door weatherization: install weather stripping on 32"×80" wooden slab door; remove and replace existing metal threshold with rubber bump; air-seal to prevent draft. • general: Shed door lock removal (customer performing with angle grinder); no structural repair. • general: Fish fryer stuck valve repair using lubricating oil and manual effort (customer performing). • plumbing: Master bath showerhead replacement (simple swap on existing arm, no valve trim work). Relocate water supply and drain lines in second-floor bathroom for new 60"×30" tub placement. Install new temperature control and thermostatic rough-in valves in wall. • tile: Master bath: remove and reapply silicone on 4'×2.5' shower surround, solid bead(s) to seal water penetration. Second-floor bathroom: demo ~45 sq ft mosaic tile on mortar, remove tile under vanity, minimize damage to perimeter tile; install 45 sq ft light standard 2'×1' tile; grout with light tan or white; apply grout sealer; replace/install tiles around tub surround (3 rows removed/replaced above tub, 1 row + nosing on side); replace soap dish. ~35 LF grout/trim work including perimeter edge finishing. • general: Replace 60"×30" whirlpool tub (customer-provided) in second-floor bathroom; remove existing tub; reuse shower caddy; install new tub; haul away old tub and tile debris; final cleanup. • windows_doors: Install two window blinds: one master bedroom window, one kids bedroom window (style and material TBD).
